A leading technology firm in Markham is seeking a Warehouse Receiver to ensure timely receipt of shipments and support production. The successful candidate will provide reliable service, perform inventory counts, and adhere to safety policies. Candidates should possess good communication skills, experience in fast-paced environments, and forklift certification. This role may require overtime and shift work.

  • Load and unload transport trucks as needed.

Job Summary


The Warehouse Receiver is responsible for helping to ensure that all of the incoming shipments are received on time and for supporting production/manufacturing, by ensuring supplies requested are provided in a timely manner.

Responsibilities
  • Load and unload Transport trucks
  • Provide quick and reliable service to our internal and external customers
  • Work in accordance with GDCAEP policies and procedures
  • Perform all data entry, as required (SAP)
  • Perform Inventory/Cycle counts, as per scheduled or scheduled by Warehouse Lead Hand
  • Escalate business or safety concerns to Lead Hand/Supervisor when required
  • Adhere to all corporate security and safety policies and procedures
  • Move skids/material from department to department when required
  • Load/stock pile material onto shelves or skids
  • Perform daily Safety / Equipment inspections as per GDCAEP policies and procedures
  • Keep warehouse and workstations clean – general housekeeping
  • Provide ideas/suggestions to Supervisor or Lead Hand for process improvement opportunities
  • Comply with G+D Environmental, Health & Safety policies, procedures and report any Environmental, Health & Safety hazards, incidents and concerns to the immediate supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned by Warehouse Lead Hand, and or Supervisor that may not be listed above
Qualifications, Experience and Educational Requirements

Skills and Competencies:

  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • System Application Program knowledge (SAP) would be an asset
  • Shipping/receiving/First Class Mail Induction experience would be an asset
  • Forklift certification/license required

Education:

  • High School Diploma would be asset or 1 year equivalent work experience
Working Conditions
  • Overtime and Shift work may be required
  • Fast paced manufacturing environment
Physical Requirements
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Able to work on feet for long periods at a time
