A seed processing company in Manitoba is looking for a Warehouse/Plant Manager. You will manage operations to ensure high-quality seed production and oversee warehouse activities to maintain superior customer service. This position is an extension of our management team. You will work closely with the Quality Manager and Seed Operations Manager to maintain and manage all operations involving JS Henry Seeds processing, packaging and associated equipment. It is your role to produce the highest quality seed possible while maximizing fully the potential of the processing equipment and timelines.
Duties & Responsibilities
Seed Plant Manager- manages operations of seed plant to produce highest possible seed quality while maximizing processing potential
- Set, adjust, and maintain seed cleaning equipment to ensure the plant is producing a superior seed product, including assessing products and adjusting as required
- Implement a cleaning schedule in conjunction with the Contract Manager
- Create and maintain a plant maintenance schedule
- Work closely with the Quality Manager and team to verify product quality
- Oversee cleanouts between varieties to ensure complete clean out and plan mill purge
- Safety Management- Identify and address any safety concerns in or around seed plant and equipment.
- Coordinate Disposal of Screenings and trash byproduct
- Work closely with the Yard and Inventory Managers to develop a clean product binning plan.
- Ensure cleanliness of seed plant and surrounding areas
Warehouse Manager- Oversees and Co-ordinates all sheds and warehouse inventory, staff, and activities to ensure superior finished goods quality and customer service excellence objectives are fulfilled.
- Work with Head of Operations, Contract Manager, Quality Manager and Inventory Manager to create a packaging schedule
- Co-ordinate logistics and staff to keep toting and warehouse running at capacity and implement the packaging schedule
- Oversee the warehouse staff efficiencies, performance, and work hours
- To ensure the quality of finished packaged goods is over the highest quality
- Responsible for sheds and equipment maintenance, cleanliness and appearance in all seasons
- To receive, count and properly store all incoming inventory. Sign and give BOL?s to Inventory Manager
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Strong decision-making abilities with analytical thinking.
- Strong organizational skills that lend well to logistics and scheduling.
- Ability to work independently and self-directed.
- Forklift experience is an asset
