Qualifications

Doman Building Materials is a busy place to work as a Warehouse Person. We operate in a fast-paced distribution environment, supplying various lumber and building materials to customers across Canada. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Warehouse Person is responsible for efficiently and accurately assembling products for customer orders, loading orders onto customers' trucks, receiving inventory from suppliers, and receiving and restocking customer returns.

It is anticipated that this role will temporarily be laid off annually from late October to early April each year.

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS

  • Unloads building material supplies safely and promptly from delivery trucks and properly places them in the warehouse.
  • Accurately, efficiently, and safely picks and assembles customer orders.
  • Processes receiving tallies and packing slips without delay.
  • Assists customers by loading orders onto delivery trucks.
  • Conducts spot inventory counts.
  • Receives and restocks inventory returns.
  • Maintains a clean and organized warehouse.
  • Adheres to all work safety rules and regulations.
  • Adheres to customer service commitments.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Certification in the following equipment is required: Counterbalance Forklift.
  • General building materials knowledge is an asset and preferred.
  • Minimum one-year warehouse experience and familiarity with the order picking process.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds or 23 kilograms regularly and up to 85 pounds occasionally.
  • Bending, lifting, and reaching during the course of the shift.
  • Receiving experience is an asset.
  • Must have own steel-toed boots.

EDUCATION: High school graduation is an asset.

Work Location: 70 Simmonds Dr, Dartmouth, NS B3B 1P6

Hours of Work: Typically, Monday to Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm

Must be flexible with start and finish times.
