Job description
Overview

We are looking for people interested in learning and developing their careers in a light, wood finishing manufacturing company for our client located in Surrey. This is a permanent full-time position with a company that was founded in 1971 and recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. Our client provides Western Canada with high-quality semi-custom cabinets.

The Warehouse Packager is responsible for handling material that needs to be wrapped in order to be shipped to customers.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and discard defective products.
  • Perform all work in a safe manner and maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Use compressed air and personal protective equipment as required.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Load, unload and move products and materials by hand or using basic material handling equipment.
  • Check in-process and completed production items for visual or mechanical defects.
  • Identify and mark acceptable and defective assemblies and return faulty assemblies to production for repair.
  • Read and interpret work orders to package finished goods.
  • Label and scan barcodes once packaging is complete.
  • Place finished goods on conveyor belts to be moved to the warehouse.
  • Fold and assemble packaging materials when required.
  • Ensure the work area is cleaned before shift end.
  • Other duties as delegated by the Lead Hand.
