UNFI in Concord, Ontario is seeking a Warehouse Picker to support order picking in a cool, fast-paced environment. You will operate a Walkie Rider and pallet jack to pick, build pallets, label and load orders.

You will stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and follow safety procedures. The role includes benefits such as health and dental coverage, PTO, and a company pension plan after 1 year of service.

Formación

• Able to stand and work on feet for extended periods in a cool, damp environment.
• Certified to operate warehouse equipment, such as pallet jack/walkie rider.
• Pallet jack/walkie rider certification considered an asset.

Responsabilidades

• Operate a Walkie Rider/Electric Pallet Jack to pick, secure, and load orders.
• Build stable and well-secured pallets.
• Label pallets and number the pallets correctly to ensure proper put-away or delivery.
• Place each completed pallets into freezer, loading area and/or truck as required.
• Assist safely with loading trucks.
• Maintain cleanliness of the warehouse by sweeping, removing trash as needed.
• Sort, sticker and repack individual pieces appropriately.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures; wear appropriate PPE.

Job Overview:

Responsible for picking customers inside a warehouse environment and completing picking in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner. Operates machinery including a Walkie Rider to pick customer orders.

Location: 8755 Keele Street, Concord, Ontario

Afternoon Shift/Schedule: Sunday to Thursday 3:00 PM-12:15 AM (43.75 hours per week)

Job Responsibilities:

• Operate a Walkie Rider/Electric Pallet Jack to pick, secure, and load orders.
• Build stable and well-secured pallets.
• Label pallets and number the pallets correctly to ensure proper put-away or delivery.
• Place each completed pallets into freezer, loading area and/or truck as required.
• Assist safely with loading trucks.
• Maintain cleanliness of the warehouse by sweeping, removing trash as needed.
• Sort, sticker and repack individual pieces appropriately.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures; wear appropriate PPE.
• Perform all duties in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
• Performs all other job duties as required.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

• Pallet Jack/Walkie Rider certification considered an asset.

Experience:

• At least one (1) year previous experience in a warehouse environment.
• Able to stand and work on feet for extended periods of time in a cool, damp environment.
• Certified to operate warehouse equipment, such as pallet jack/walkie rider.

Skills & Abilities:

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs on occasion.
• Able to work in different temperature environments including dry, cooler, and freezer (-20c).
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Able to safe operate walkie rider/electric pallet jacks
• Able to follow instructions (written/oral)
• Able to read and correctly interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• High regard for safety.

Additional Requirements:

• Steel-toed shoes required

Benefits:

$21.24/hour to start, Health & Dental benefits – first of the month following 90 days of employment, Paid Time Off, wage increase of 0.50 cents every 6 months, Company Pension Plan after 1 year of service, employee discount on UNFI products, internal job opportunities.

UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position.
