OVERVIEW
FOR THE PICKERING, ONTARIO WAREHOUSE
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Warehouse Manager plans, organizes, directs, manages, and evaluates the activities of production, warehousing and national distribution of products. He is responsible for the receiving, warehousing and shipping budget.
The Warehouse Manager is also responsible for negotiating all contracts related to the proper functioning of the building as well as transportation.
The Warehouse Manager must work to mobilize his team, to enhance the value of individuals and to ensure their development. He performs all other related tasks requested by his immediate superior, all in accordance with internal procedures and rules.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Employee management (25%)
- Sets expectations and communicates them to employees.
- Manages daily performance, gives positive feedback and realigns when necessary.
- Conducts annual performance evaluations.
- Approves vacations and absences of employees directly under his responsibility.
- Ensures the dissemination and fluidity of communications within his team.
- Ensures the proper training and development of his employees.
- Ensures the recruitment of employees under his responsibility.
Operations management (40%)
- Manage and participate in all warehouse operations, including reception, preparation and shipment of orders.
- Ensure sound inventory management including Cycle counting, inventory rotation, etc.
- Prioritize orders in the computer system.
- Manage performance (KPI) and achievement of objectives.
Administration (25%)
- Review and examine business processes and workflows to find out how they can be improved and automated.
- Maintain adherence to procedures and documentation in place.
- Monitor the progress of projects.
- Organize and lead meetings with the work team.
Health and safety (5%)
- Ensure compliance with company standards and procedures and the application of occupational health and safety laws.
- Participate in the health and safety committee.
Budget and workforce planning (5%)
- Analyze and plan the costs associated with labor movements and present recommendations to management.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in operations management required or other related disciplines.
- Between 3 and 5 years of experience in a supervisory role acquired in a distribution environment.
- Forklift Certification Card would be an asset.
- Very good knowledge of French and English in oral and written expression.
- Master the MS Office suite.
- Knowledge of computerized production and sales management tools.
- Knowledge of the automotive industry would be an asset.
- Knowledge of a WMS (SAP by Design) would be an asset.
- Knowledge of a TMS (2Ship) would be an asset.
