JOB PURPOSE:
Manage warehouse staff, processes, and systems to ensure productivity targets are met in a safe and efficient manner, compliant with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), government regulations, and customer expectations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain receiving, sampling/issuing, warehousing, distribution, and shipping operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing operational procedures and company policies.
- Complete warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees weekly; follow up on work results.
- Motivate, organize, and encourage teamwork within the warehouse department to meet or exceed productivity targets.
- Brief team members daily.
- Manage warehouse staff, addressing personnel issues such as recruitment, training, discipline, and performance management.
- Develop and provide training to new warehouse technicians during onboarding.
- Control inventory levels through physical counts, reconcile in SAP, and investigate discrepancies.
- Adjust stock based on inventory cycle counts as part of material management.
- Achieve financial objectives by preparing annual budgets, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
- Produce regular reports, metrics, and statistics daily, weekly, and monthly.
- Contribute to resource planning (staffing, materials, equipment).
- Maintain standards of health, safety, hygiene, cleanliness, and security.
- Ensure compliance with warehousing, material handling, and shipping legislation, advising management on necessary actions.
- Promote and ensure adherence to cGMP according to SOPs.
- Address audit deficiencies and performance gaps; facilitate audit tours.
- Participate in inter-departmental collaborations and internal or client improvement projects.
- Monitor the quality of service provided to internal customers.
- Improve processes and documentation, including authoring SOPs.
- Identify opportunities to enhance warehouse efficiency.
- Oversee maintenance of vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
- Supervise waste management procedures in accordance with legislation, e.g., Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act.
- Lead administrative tasks such as equipment inspections, temperature recordings, and report documentation.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, and networking.
- Ability to lift 25 kg.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 3-5 years experience as a warehouse manager or supervisor, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Secondary school education or higher.
