Job summary

Foremost Hythe facility seeks a Warehouse Lead to drive safe, efficient warehouse and yard operations, reporting to the General Manager. Lead a small team, manage shipping/receiving, inventory, and continuous improvement to meet production and customer needs.

The role requires proven leadership in a warehouse setting, strong inventory control, ERP familiarity, and effective communication. A Class 5 license is required; forklift certification is an asset.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership in warehouse or manufacturing settings.
• Strong inventory control and material flow knowledge.
• Experience with ERP or inventory systems and MS Office.
• Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license; forklift cert/assets are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily warehouse/yard operations with safety and efficiency.
• Supervise a small team: training, discipline, performance reviews.
• Coordinate shipping, receiving, staging, and inventory activities.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and system transactions.
• Oversee cycle counts and investigate discrepancies.
• Ensure clean, organized warehouse, yard, and equipment areas.
• Collaborate with Safety, Quality, Production, and Purchasing.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, service and efficiency.

Description

Foremost is seeking a Warehouse Lead to lead safe, efficient, and accurate warehouse and yard operations at our Hythe facility reporting to our General Manager. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for shipping, receiving, inventory control, material handling, staff coordination, and continuous improvement in support of production and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead a day-to-day warehouse and yard operations while promoting a strong safety culture and compliance with safe work practices.
• Manage a small team, including training, supervision, discipline, performance reviews and daily tasks as required.
• Coordinate shipping, receiving, material staging, and inventory activities to support production and customer demand.
• Supervise warehouse and yard personnel, assign daily priorities, and provide coaching and guidance.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and complete system transactions for receipts, issues, adjustments, returns, and transfers.
• Oversee cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and support inventory accuracy initiatives.
• Ensure warehouse, yard, and equipment areas is organized, clean, and operating effectively.
• Collaborate with Safety, Quality, Production, and Purchasing to resolve issues and improve performance.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, service, and operating efficiency.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience such as supervisor, lead hand, or equivalent in a warehouse, materials, shipping/receiving, or manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of inventory control, material flow, and warehouse operations.
• Experience using Visual or other ERP systems, database, or inventory management systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Effective communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
• Forklift certification, safety training, or manufacturing experience is considered an asset.

The Warehouse Lead’s work is performed in the warehouse, yard, and office environments.
