Experience / Qualifications

  • Minimum one (1) year experience sorting and grading shoes, purses, belt
  • Experience processing donations by opening donations, sorting for usable and unusable, placing on sorting line for further processing, protecting the integrity of the donations
  • Complies with all safety policies and procedures
  • Experience in maintaining a tidy and safe workspace and knowledge of maintenance guidelines of equipment associated with the shoes line
  • Performs other duties as assigned
You can expect
  • To join a hands-on work environment where you will be required to physically move through our operation while adhering to daily goals.
  • We are operational 7 days a week and schedule our employees based on operational needs; days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Our stores are open for shopping Monday to Saturday and Sundays we are open to receive donations.
  • To undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion.
  • Working hours Tuesday - Friday 9 am - 5 pm and Saturday - Sunday 10 am to 6 pm.
Working Conditions

This is a permanent full-time position. Physically capable of lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs on a frequent basis. Frequent lifting, carrying, standing, walking, bending and twisting. Ability to work in a variety of environments (exposure to heat, cold, dust, etc.).

CSA approved footwear is required for all Retail and DRC positions within NRO as part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all of our employees.

Compensation

The target hiring range for this position is $21.00 to $21.60 with a maximum of $22.20. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
