Job summary

A logistics and distribution company in Winnipeg seeks dedicated General Labourers to support warehouse operations. Responsibilities include material handling, packaging, and assisting in various departments. Candidates should be physically able to lift heavy objects and have strong organizational skills. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety policies and instructions from supervisor.
  • Assist in shipping and receiving of products.
  • Transport materials throughout the plant using powered equipment.
  • Sort, pack, and stock products.

Job description

Job Summary

As directed by warehouse supervisor, general labours perform material handling, clean-up, packaging and other activities pertaining to the warehouse

Job Responsibilities

Duties

  • Follows all safety policies including wearing appropriate safety attire at all times
  • Assist contract hardware to ship partial shipments or complete shipments of their projects via PQS (project quantity summary)
  • Assist departments such as shipping, specialties, overhead doors, hollow metal shop, wood door shop, etc.
  • Using the PQS itemize every product, detect discrepancies as early as possible
  • Build picking order slip, package required products, mark package to be shipped, arrange shipment when necessary
  • Key in, order entry into Comsense/Navision order system
  • Detect errors, correct mistakes and intercept errors in Comsense/Navision before products get shipped to customers
  • Transport raw materials, finished products and equipment throughout plant using powered equipment
  • Complete work orders, process order-filling duties
  • Resolve issues with returned products: inspect to ensure products are in re-salable condition, create new picking slip for returned goods, re-stock
  • Sort, pack, crate and stock shelves
  • Clean work areas and equipment
  • Follows direction and instruction from supervisor
  • Perform other laboring and elemental activities

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Product knowledge an asset
  • Physically demanding, ability to lift heavy objects
