Job description

Position Overview: As a warehouse keeper/receiver, you will be responsible for ensuring that orders are accurately picked. Other responsibilities will include maintaining an organized warehouse and assisting in inventory counts. As a receiver, you will be responsible for ensuring proper receiving practices are utilized and goods shipped for outside services are properly packaged and made ready for transport as per our internal procedures.

Shift: Friday – Sunday 6am - 630pm (comes with a weekend gross-up)

Must have reliable transportation.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper receiving practices are utilized.
  • Ensure goods shipped for outside services are properly packaged and made ready for transport.
  • Work directly with team members within the department in a hands-on manner.
  • Know and understand workplace health and safety rights and responsibilities.
  • Always follow safe work procedures and act safely in the workplace.
  • Gain efficiencies within the department and job(s).
  • Use the protective clothing, devices, and equipment requires for the job (s).
  • Complete all applicable quality records
  • Perform work in accordance with IMW documented policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all project materials are picked and issued to the projects.
  • Load, unload, and move products and materials by hand, forklift or industrial equipment.
  • Ensure that inventory is maintained.
  • Confirm inventory transactions are complete.
  • Responsible for re-stocking of warehouse shelves.
  • Responsible for assisting with inventory counts and cycle counting.
  • Responsible for ensuring the warehouse is clean and that all parts are properly stored in their allocated location.
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Some post-secondary education is preferred.
  • Materials Handling certification or equivalent experience and asset.

Experience

  • 1-3 years experience in warehousing or material handling.
  • 1-3 years experience in receiving

Physical

  • Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Language

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Computer Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning system.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Ability to learn new programs as required.

Certifications / Licences / Permits

  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Forklift Certification.
  • Materials handling certificate or equivalent experience.

Other

  • Have an excellent knowledge of proper warehouse, shipping and receiving practices.
  • Ability to work alone.
