Job Summary:

Van-Kam Freightways Ltd. is seeking an Evening Warehouse Dock Worker to join our team at our Surrey terminal. As a Dock Worker, you must be able to work in a high-pressure, high-volume environment with critical time frames. This position reports directly to the Evening Operations Supervisors and Dock Manager.

We are hiring for both Full-Time and Part-Time positions, with shifts starting at 4:00 pm.

Van-Kam Freightways Ltd. (Van Kam) is one of the largest regional carriers in Western Canada, specializing in less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation. With 8 terminal locations across British Columbia, we deliver shipments within 1-3 days throughout BC and Alberta. Our coverage extends beyond Western Canada into the U.S. and Eastern Canada through our own resources and partner network.

Responsibilities:

• Loading and unloading trucks, receiving freight, and filling out waybills
• Using tablets on the dock for computer-related tasks
• Cross docking all LTL freight
• Ensuring scheduled departures on time
• Maintaining a high load factor
• Ensuring quality loading to minimize damages

Required Qualifications:

• Forklift certification is required
• Experience loading/unloading flat decks
• Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds
