Job summary

Alamos Gold Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Specialist at the Island Gold District in Dubreuilville, ON, to manage material issuing, reservations, and month-end procedures for mill and surface/underground departments.

You will ensure accurate receiving, inventory counts, and shipping according to policies, mentoring team members as needed. Role supports Leadhand in projects and coordination, with a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation and on-site camp accommodations when required.

Qualifications

  • High-school graduation with related post-secondary training.
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of related experience.
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certificate required.
  • Knowledge of shipping and warehouse procedures and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Leadership skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate duties to ensure material flows from warehouse to end users for all departments.
  • Manage daily reservations requests and escalate shortages to buyers to follow up on delivery dates.
  • Cataloguing of spare parts and consumable items in SAP.
  • Coordinate stock transfers to warehouse locations (U/G, Magino).
  • Coordinate work for Warehouse Technicians and Runners as required.
  • Assist with all inventory counts as required.
  • Assist with daily unloading of trucks with forklift and receiving items.
  • Coordinate repairs to be shipped out for repairs or warranty.
  • Identify areas for improvement and suggest continuous improvement ideas.
  • Assist with special projects in the warehouse as required.

Role Overview/Purpose:

Responsible for managing issuing of materials through reservations, counter service and month end procedures for mill and surface/underground departments. Ensuring receiving, inventory counts, and shipping of items are preformed efficiently and accurately according to policies and regulations. Mentor team as required. Support Leadhand in projects and coordination of activities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate duties to ensure that material flows from warehouse to end users for all departments. Stock is transferred to underground and/or other storage locations as required.
  • Manage daily reservations requests and upscale any shortages to buyer/expedite to follow up on delivery dates
  • Cataloguing of spare parts and consumable items in SAP
  • Coordinate stock transfers to warehouse locations. (U/G, Magino)
  • Coordinate work for Warehouse Technicians and Runners as required.
  • Assist with all inventory counts as required
  • Assist, when possible, with daily unloading of trucks with forklift and receiving items.
  • Coordinate repairs to be shipped out for repairs or warranty
  • Recognizes areas of improvement and offers suggestions for continuous improvement
  • Assist with special projects in the warehouse as required.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • High-school graduation with related post-secondary training
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of related experience,
  • Knowledge of shipping and warehouse procedures and regulations required
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate required
  • Knowledge of mining equipment and parts preferred
  • Must be able to operate forklifts or other equipment as required.
  • Highly organized with exception attention to detail, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, growing work environment.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills together with an ability to facilitate commitment to a cooperative team effort.
  • Good communication skills, both orally and written with both internal and external contacts and the ability to work with all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is required.
  • Good leadership skills are required.

Working Conditions:

7 days on at site x 7 days off rotational work schedule at the Island Gold Complex

This is a physically demanding job where the incumbent is required to stand for extended periods of time, lift heavy objects on a regular basis, do repetitive tasks with few breaks, and so forth.
