The Warehouse Clerk is responsible for receiving, storing, distributing, and controlling inventory of materials, parts, tools, and equipment required for the company’s operations. He or she ensures accurate inventory management and the availability of resources for production, maintenance, and other departments.
Main Responsibilities
- Receive goods: verify quantities, check order accuracy, and perform visual inspections.
- Receive and check orders, and place materials on shelves.
- Record inventory movements in the digital system.
- Perform weekly inventory checks, enter data in Google Sheets, and make necessary adjustments.
- Print labels for inventory identification.
- Store materials in an orderly, safe, and compliant manner.
- Identify new items on the shelves when necessary.
- Prepare and deliver required items to departments within deadlines.
- Prepare and verify prep bins; request materials for specific jobs.
- Perform regular and cycle counts of inventory.
- Report inventory discrepancies, damage, or non-conformities.
- Notify the drafting team of any errors in BOMs or hardware sheets and make necessary corrections.
- Engrave plates or print labels as needed.
- Coordinate with suppliers and the purchasing department for order follow-up.
- Collaborate with Nadia to open jobs related to machining or cutting.
- Track equipment assigned to each employee during the year and monitor purchase dates (e.g., boots).
- Run errands for the workshop as needed (with Nadia).
- Respond to requests from the supervisor and floor manager.
- Check and respond to emails.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of shelves in the purchasing department.
- Maintain order, cleanliness, and safety in the warehouse.
- Strictly follow occupational health and safety rules.
- Perform any other related tasks as requested by the supervisor.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Relevant experience in a similar role (an asset).
- Knowledge of inventory management systems (ERP or other).
- Comfortable using digital tools (Office suite, inventory software).
- Good physical condition: ability to lift and move frequently.
- Forklift license (an asset).
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, autonomy, and proactivity.
