The Warehouse Clerk is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to support the daily operations of the warehouse. This role involves inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping and receiving, and general warehouse organization.

The Warehouse Clerk ensures the accuracy and efficiency of inventory tracking, order processing, and logistics operations to maintain smooth warehouse functioning.

This position is currently based out of our Warehouse location on 146 St NW Edmonton (T5L 4S8), however we will be moving to a new warehouse within the next 2-3 months located at 3718 Roper Road in Edmonton. Candidates must have reliable personal transportation to get to both the current and future warehouse location.

Inventory Management

YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

  1. Receive, inspect, and record incoming shipments, ensuring all items are accurately logged in the inventory system.
  2. Maintain an organized and accurate inventory by ensuring proper stocking, labeling, and location tracking of items.
  3. Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and recorded inventory levels.
  4. Ensure the proper rotation of stock, including FIFO (First In, First Out) practices to prevent product obsolescence.
  5. Update inventory records to reflect any adjustments or transfers and communicate discrepancies with the warehouse supervisor.

Order Fulfillment

  1. Pick, pack, and label orders accurately and efficiently in accordance with customer requirements or production schedules.
  2. Coordinate with other warehouse team members to fulfill customer orders and ensure timely shipping.
  3. Prepare shipping documents, including packing slips, bills of lading, and shipping labels.
  4. Verify product details before shipment to ensure accuracy and avoid shipping errors.
  5. Assist in organizing orders for delivery or pickup, ensuring that they are correctly staged and ready for shipment.

Shipping And Receiving

  1. Unload incoming shipments, verify product quantities and quality, and ensure all items are properly labeled and stored.
  2. Operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and in accordance with company policies.
  3. Coordinate with carriers for timely and accurate dispatch of goods.
  4. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the receiving and shipping areas to promote safety and efficiency.

Warehouse Organization

  1. Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the warehouse, ensuring safe storage and accessibility of products.
  2. Regularly inspect the warehouse for safety hazards and assist in maintaining a safe working environment.
  3. Assist with the proper labeling and sorting of items in the warehouse, ensuring clear organization and ease of retrieval.
  4. Follow all company protocols for inventory and warehouse management, including safety standards and operational procedures.

Data Entry And Reporting

  1. Accurately enter inventory, shipping, and receiving data into the company’s warehouse management system (WMS).
  2. Maintain up-to-date records of inventory transactions, movements, and stock levels.
  3. Generate and provide reports on inventory levels, order fulfillment, and shipping activities as needed.

Team Collaboration And Communication

  1. Work closely with the warehouse team to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  2. Communicate effectively with other departments (e.g., sales, procurement) to ensure accurate order processing and inventory control.
  3. Support warehouse supervisors and managers in various tasks, including special projects and inventory audits.

Safety And Compliance

  1. Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations, including the proper use of equipment and handling of materials.
  2. Report any safety incidents or concerns to management immediately to ensure corrective actions are taken.
  3. Follow proper procedures for handling hazardous materials and ensure that all materials are stored according to regulations.

Other Duties

  1. Assist with the loading and unloading of trucks as required.
  2. Support other warehouse operations and projects as needed.
  3. Perform any additional duties as assigned by the warehouse supervisor or manager.

THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

  1. Previous warehouse experience is preferred, but not required.
  2. Ability to operate material handling equipment, including forklifts (training may be provided).
  3. Basic knowledge of inventory management systems and processes.
  4. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  5. Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
  6. Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping.
  7. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
  8. Good organizational and time-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience with warehouse management software (WMS).
  2. Forklift certification.
  3. Knowledge of safety regulations and warehouse best practices.
  4. Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities.

Working Conditions

  1. Warehouse environment, with exposure to various temperatures and weather conditions depending on the warehouse setting.
  2. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift for long periods.
  3. Ability to work overtime and weekends if necessary to meet operational needs.
