Job summary

HUNGRY is seeking a Warehouse Associate/Driver to support warehouse and delivery operations. You will handle receiving, inventory, order picking, packing, and drive an 18-20 foot box truck to client routes up to two hours away from the warehouse.

Responsibilities include maintaining inventory accuracy, proper product handling (refrigerated/frozen as needed), and ensuring on-time deliveries. Valid license and ability to lift 50 lbs required.

Position Summary:

The Warehouse Associate/Driver supports the day-to-day execution of HUNGRY's warehouse and delivery operations. In addition to core warehouse duties — receiving and storing inventory, maintaining accurate inventory records, and picking and packing client orders — this role loads and personally delivers orders to designated client accounts using an 18-20 foot box truck, including routes up to approximately two hours from the warehouse. The Warehouse Associate/Driver plays an important dual role in ensuring products are handled safely, orders are fulfilled accurately, and deliveries arrive complete and on time. This is a hands-on position that requires attention to detail, reliability, and comfort both working in a fast-paced warehouse and driving a large box truck.

What You'll Do:

Receiving & Inventory

• Receive inbound product and verify quantities and condition against expected deliveries; inspect for damage, quality concerns, and expiration dates
• Properly store products in designated dry, refrigerated, and frozen locations, following FIFO (First In, First Out) and proper product rotation
• Use Sortly and other HUNGRY systems to record inventory receipts, movements, adjustments, and counts; assist with cycle counts and physical inventory counts
• Identify and report inventory discrepancies, damaged products, shortages, and expired products

Order Picking & Packing

• Review assigned client orders and pick lists; pick the correct product, quantity, and pack size from designated warehouse locations
• Pack products securely for transportation, including appropriate handling of refrigerated and frozen products, and clearly label completed orders for the correct client, route, and delivery
• Identify shortages or unavailable products and follow the established substitution/escalation process

Delivery & Driving

• Load orders onto an 18-20 foot box truck, securing product for safe transport, including refrigerated and frozen items
• Safely operate the box truck and lift gate to deliver orders to designated client accounts, including routes up to approximately two hours from the warehouse
• Confirm delivery accuracy with client contacts, obtain delivery confirmations as required, and communicate any delivery issues or delays promptly
• Maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record; operate the vehicle in compliance with all applicable traffic laws and company safety standards.
• Perform basic pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report any mechanical issues

Quality Control & Order Staging

• Verify completed orders for SKU and quantity accuracy before loading for delivery; correct picking or packing errors before orders leave the warehouse
• Confirm refrigerated and frozen products are handled and staged appropriately, and stage completed orders by client, route, and delivery schedule

Warehouse Organization & Safety

• Maintain clean, organized, and clearly labeled storage and work areas; keep aisles, shelving, staging areas, and workstations free of hazards
• Follow warehouse food-safety, sanitation, and cold-chain procedures
• Properly use warehouse and delivery equipment, including pallet jacks/lifts, lift gates, carts, ladders, and other tools
• Immediately report safety concerns, damaged equipment, spills, or facility issues; support opening and closing warehouse procedures as assigned

Operational Support

• Work closely with the Warehouse Supervisor and Operations team members to ensure orders are completed and delivered on schedule
• Communicate inventory shortages, order discrepancies, and operational or delivery issues promptly
• Assist with warehouse setup, organization, labeling, process improvements, and other special projects as the operation grows

Requirements

• Previous warehouse, fulfillment, delivery driving, inventory, grocery, or food distribution experience preferred
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; comfortable and confident driving an 18-20 foot box truck.
• Pallet lift certified, or willing and able to obtain certification; comfortable operating a lift gate
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to order accuracy
• Reliable, organized, and able to work independently, both in the warehouse and on the road
• Comfortable learning and using inventory management technology, including barcode/QR scanning and mobile applications
• Strong sense of urgency while maintaining accuracy and product quality
• Dependable attendance and punctuality, particularly for early-morning shifts
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, push, pull, and squat for extended periods
• Ability to safely use warehouse carts, pallet jacks/lifts, ladders, and related equipment
• Ability to work in refrigerated and freezer environments for periods of time
