A leading logistics company seeks a Warehouse Associate in Regina, Saskatchewan, responsible for managing materials and inventory in a safe and organized manner. The ideal candidate is experienced in warehousing, possesses strong communication skills, and is flexible to adapt to operational challenges. This role involves various labor functions and requires a commitment to safety and efficiency.
The basic function of the Warehouse Associate is to manually move freight, stock, or other materials (automotive, hazardous materials, fertilizer, etc.) throughout the warehouse. This position also works on various projects and performs other general labor functions.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
oConducts daily safety check of forklift trucks.
oIf in receiving area, ensures that proper receiving procedures are followed. This includes verifying the condition of inbound freight and documenting any damage, shortages, or over-shipments.
oIf in receiving area, ensures that all product received is promptly placed in designated locations and inventory tags completed where applicable.
oPicking, staging, and verifying of the product and quantities for outbound orders. Also, ensures orders are filled accurately.
oDe-kitting, banding, wrapping, restacking, repackaging, and labeling of customer products.
oScans labels to show receipt of inventory.
oEnsures that aisles are kept clear.
oEnsures that safety standards are understood and being followed at all times.
oNotifies the Warehouse Manager of any problems with equipment, the building, or any suspicious activities.
oMaintains an ongoing consolidation of material and helps with inventory control operations.
oEnsures that the inside and outside areas of the warehouse are kept in a clean and organized manner.
oTakes necessary steps to prevent theft in the warehouse. Secures all doors and docks at the close of business. Questions any unauthorized personnel in the building.
oData entry into company and customer systems.
oOther duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager.
Required Experience and Education:
oHigh School Diploma or Equivalent.
oBasic knowledge of shipping and warehouse procedures. At least two years’ experience in the warehousing industry.
oWMS experience preferred.
oMust be able to read, understand, and follow all procedures relating to shipping and receiving forms.
oMust possess good communication skills.
oMust be team oriented.
oMust have a good knowledge of arithmetic functions: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
oMust be flexible and able to adapt to all challenges that arise within the operation.
This position we require frequent travel upon business needs.
