The Salvation Army is seeking a warehouse associate in Canada to handle donations, receive, sort, pick and ship items, including use of forklift and power cart. You will help supply donated goods to member agencies serving those in need and maintain a safe, clean work area.
Applicants should have 6 months of warehouse experience, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs (40 lbs typical), a valid driver’s license, and be willing to follow OH&S policies and procedures. A Criminal Record Check is required.

The role will be responsible for standard warehouse duties of receiving, sorting, putting away, picking and shipping of various donations, primarily goods and food products for a great cause. Regular power equipment (forklift, power cart) use is required as well as a significant amount of manual work and use of computer systems to help supply donated goods to member agencies who help the needy in our communities.
Perform routine maintenance (snow shovelling, sweeping) Receive all donations in a designated area Handle, sort, dispose of recycle and waste material. Sort all donated items making sure the good quality items are kept for redistribution Be willing to work in the sorting area when and if necessary Treat each customer fairly, in a pleasant and professional manner. Keep high standards of cleanliness and efficiency in the sorting and receiving are Health and Safety Contribute to the safety of staff and customers (e.g., snow removal, clear fire exits, clean spillage; no obstacles inside/outside the store). Maintain an attractive organized and safe appearance of the worksite. Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures.

The target hiring range for this position is $15.35 to $18.86 with a maximum of $22.64. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
