Job summary

East Penn Canada is seeking an Afternoon Shift Warehouse Assistant at our Courtice head office. Join a battery solutions company serving essential industries across Canada and contribute to finishing, packing, and order support on the warehouse floor.

You will work 3:00pm to 11:30pm, Monday to Friday, on-site, with potential overtime during peak periods. The role requires 1 year of warehousing experience, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in picking/packing, labeling, or assembly in a warehousing, distribution, manufacturing, or related environment.
• Familiarity with inventory handling including sorting, stocking, and replenishment.
• Experience with warehouse technology such as WMS, RF scanners, and labeling systems.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
• Strong English communication in reading, writing, and speaking.

Responsibilities

• Spend the majority of shifts finishing lines and labeling product to customer specifications.
• Sort, mark, and place items on racks, shelves, or bins according to product specifics such as size, type, style, or SKU.
• Assist in replenishment of pick bins as required.
• Use warehouse technology to label finished products, package, and stage orders.
• Occasionally assist with loading and unloading of products.
• Maintain housekeeping and safe, hazard-free work areas.

The Afternoon Shift Warehouse Assistant is responsible for safely contributing to the overall effectiveness of East Penn Canada's warehouse operations by performing a variety of activities relating to product finishing, order assembly, and general warehouse support.
This role directly contributes to customer satisfaction by ensuring timely and accurate finishing of products and orders, while maintaining compliance with all company and provincial safety and environmental standards.
Duties & Responsibilities

• Spend the majority of shifts working on finishing line, labeling product to customer specifications
• Sort, mark, and place items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to product specifics such as size, type, style, or SKU
• Assist in replenishment of pick bins as required
• Utilize multiple technology systems to accurately label finished products, package, and stage customer orders
• Occasionally assist with loading and unloading of products
• Actively participate in general housekeeping and maintenance of the warehouse environment, ensuring work areas are clear and free of hazards at all times

Experience, Skills & Competencies

• A minimum of 1 (one) year of experience in picking/packing, labeling, or assembly position within a warehousing, distribution, manufacturing, or related environment
• Familiarity with inventory handling, including sorting, stocking, and replenishment of products
• Strong understanding of, and ability to use various technology tools related to warehousing, such as warehouse management systems, RF scanners, and labeling systems
• Experience with manual material handling and ability to frequently lift products weighing up to 50 lbs
• Extremely strong communication skills in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment, with minimal supervision requirements

Other Considerations

• This position is supporting the afternoon shift with hours of work running from 3:00pm to 11:30pm Monday to Friday
• This is a 100% on-site position, working out of East Penn's Courtice Head Office location (reliable transportation to and from work is required, as public transportation options are not available for this area)
• This role requires some flexibility in schedule to accommodate occasional overtime requirements during periods of increased order volume

• Estimated hourly rate for this role is $19.00-21.00 plus shift premium (actual hourly rate to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data)
