Job summary

Sysco Canada Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Worker in Vancouver to operate in a cold/freezer environment and support order fulfillment processes.

Mandatory 4 AM start and weekend availability are required. You will pick and stage orders, and safely operate an electric stand-up forklift while adhering to health and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Forklift certificate required for stand-up operation.
• OFA Level 1 asset but preferred.
• High School completion or equivalent asset.
• WHMIS, Health & Safety, Food Safety, HACCP training beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Pick and stage orders accurately in a cold/freezer environment.
• Operate an electric stand-up counterbalance forklift safely.
• Follow health and safety protocols and use PPE.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse areas.
• Be a certified First Aid responder on shift.
• Ensure equipment is safe to operate at all times.
• Follow directions and comply with HACCP and food safety regulations.
• Weekend availability as needed.

Warehouse Worker

Compensation: $23/hour

Responsibilities

• MANDATORY AVAILABILITY FOR A 4AM START TIME.
• Pick and stage orders accurately and efficiently in a cold/freezer environment.
• Operate an electric stand-up counterbalance forklift safely in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
• Follow all health and safety protocols, including proper use of PPE in cold storage areas.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse areas.
• Provide assistance in maintaining workplace safety, including being a certified First Aid responder on shift.
• Ensure that any equipment being used is safe to operate at all times.
• Ability to follow directions.
• Comply with all Food Safety and HACCP regulations.
• Ability to be available to work weekends as needed.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Standup electric counterbalance forklift certificate required.
• Occupational First Aid Certificate is an asset (OFA Level 1).
• 1+ year warehouse related experience (food processing, cold environment production) an asset.
• Completion of High School, Post-Secondary an asset.
• Trained in WHMIS, Health and Safety, Food Safety, HACCP.
• Able to work in a fast-paced work environment with superior attention to safe work methods.
• Physically able to lift (50 to 70 + lbs.), stand, walk, bend, twist, stoop, squat, repetitively for the duration of the shift.
• Can identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
