Job summary

A leading health organization in Halifax is seeking a Ward Clerk to support efficient unit operations through clerical tasks, data entry, and customer service. The Ward Clerk performs reception and clerical duties for the efficient operation of the unit, including data entry, supply management, transport functions, and answering phones.


Hours of Work: 10.5-hour shifts; 0700-1900 or 1900-0700


Your Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate from a recognized Office Administration Program preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer programs; testing may be conducted.
  • Knowledge of SAP and Meditech is an asset.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is an asset.
  • Keyboarding skills minimum of 40 wpm required; 60 wpm preferred.
  • Data entry skills required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proven team player.
  • Ability to work respectfully with inter-professional team members.
  • High initiative, diligence, attention to detail, and self-discipline.
  • Commitment to continual learning and supporting co-worker development.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Family Centred Care.
  • Strong multi-tasking, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Competencies in other languages are assets.
