Compensation : $ 23.3519 - $ 25.3918 / hour

The Opportunity

The Ward Clerk performs a variety of reception and clerical duties required for the efficient operation of the unit. Responsibilities include but are not limited to : utilization of OBTV and Meditech data entry on all patients including admission transfer and discharge; ordering of lab specimens; ordering and maintaining supplies; transport functions; answering phones; assembling discharge and assessment charts.

Hours of Work

12 Hour Shifts rotating shifts of 07 : 00 19 : 00 and 19 : 00 07 : 00; Mon-Fri and Weekends.

Your Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Graduate from a recognized Office Administration Program preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer programs / technology (testing may be conducted on shortlisted candidates)
  • Knowledge of SAP an asset
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology an asset
  • Knowledge of Meditech preferred
  • Experience using OBTV preferred
  • Keyboarding skills minimum of 40 wpm required 60 wpm is preferred (testing may be conducted on shortlisted candidates)
  • Proven team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to respectfully work with a variety of inter-professional team members required
  • High degree of initiative diligence attention to detail and self-discipline / focus
  • Commitment to continual learning and willing to share knowledge and support the development of co-workers
  • Demonstrated commitment to Family Centred Care required
  • Excellent multi-tasking organizational and prioritization skills required
  • Competency in other languages considered an asset
