Job summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking a part-time Ward Aide to support the recovery area and turnover of procedure rooms. The role involves assisting nurses, stocking supplies, and ensuring smooth patient flow in a busy hospital environment.

The position is 0.50 FTE with Day/Evening shifts (7.5 hours). A CUPE 815 coverage and strong interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Must have previous ward aide or related health care experience.
• Experience with medical supplies (cleaning/stocking) required.
• Must be able to diplomatically respond to customer requests in a demanding work environment.
• Must be able to respond appropriately to emergency situations.
• Repetitive standing & walking, frequently pushing patients on stretchers, lifting boxes of IV solutions weighing approximately 30 lbs., bending to clean stretchers.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Must be able to prioritize workload and function independently in a busy and stressful environment.
• Demonstrate public relations skills and the ability to diplomatically respond to physician, staff, and family inquiries in a demanding work environment.
• Satisfactory employment and attendance record.
