Job summary

Aramark is hiring part-time Wait Staff to join Riverbank Social on the Carleton University campus. You will take orders, serve food and drinks, greet guests, and help create memorable experiences while coordinating with the kitchen for dietary needs.

Possession of Smart Serve and strong English communication are required. This role emphasizes guest satisfaction, accuracy, and a positive attitude, with opportunities for growth, training, and recognition within a diverse workplace.

Qualifications

• 3+ years wait staff experience.
• Excellent command of English (bilingualism an asset).
• Smart Serve certification required.
• Criminal Background Check will be completed successfully.

Responsibilities

• Be well-versed in the menu and explain items, ingredients, and allergens.
• Accurately and efficiently take orders with no mistakes.
• Serve food and beverages promptly and ensure guest satisfaction.
• Coordinate with culinary team on restrictions or allergies.
• Provide the bill and process payments.
• Set up tables, buffet stations, and reservations as needed.
• Greet guests upon arrival and maintain a clean workspace.
• Ensure proper use and cleanliness of equipment and compliance with policies.

We are hiring part-time Wait Staff to join our team at our Riverbank Social restaurant located on Carleton University campus. Riverbank Social is generally open Monday-Friday/daytime hours, however some schedules may include evenings or weekends.

About the Job

• Be well-versed in the menu and easily able to explain menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, potential allergens, and make recommendations as appropriate
• Accurately and efficiently take orders, ensuring no mistakes are made
• Serve food and beverages promptly and ensure customers are satisfied with their meals
• Remain alert and work with the culinary team on any food restrictions or allergies
• Provide the customer's bill and receive payment
• Set up tables, buffet stations and any reservations requirements
• Greet guests upon arrival
• Clear tables and maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Ensure proper use and cleanliness of equipment
• Ensure adherence to all of Aramark Policies and Procedures
• May perform other duties as required

The hourly wage range for this position is 19.75/hr to 21.08/hr.
