The Opportunity

This position works out of our Ottawa, Ontario location in the Point of Care, Diagnostics division. We’re empowering smarter medical and economic decision making to help transform the way people manage their health at all stages of life. Our Point of Care diagnostic portfolio spans key health and therapeutic areas, including Chemistry, Electrolytes, Hematology, Blood Gases, Coagulation, Endocrinology, Cardiac Markers, Neurology, and Informatics. In this role you will be part of a team, working safely in cleanroom environment, to achieve established production goals and metrics.

What You’ll Do

  • Maintains training to operate at least 6 work cells in the Wafer Fab.

  • Properly uses equipment and materials and is careful about observing safety and security procedures.

  • Meets standards with a commitment to excellence. Looks for ways to improve quality.

  • Focuses to produce error-free work. Considers accuracy, neatness, and adherence to procedures.

  • Demonstrates a commitment to increase productivity and works to a pace to ensure goals are met.

  • Begins work on time, gives advance notice when time off is needed. Meets guidelines for sick leave.

  • Encourages, supports and actively contributes to the team.

  • Understands and comply with applicable EH&S policies and procedures.

  • Other miscellaneous duties as may be required.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma

  • 1+ years of experience working in the Wafer Fab is preferred.

  • Experience providing consistent quality while multitasking and supporting manufacturing, operating at least 2 work cells, ideally in the Wafer Fab.

  • Knowledge/experience in the following areas is desirable.

  • Good Manufacturing Practices.

  • Cleanroom Environments.

  • Planning, organizing and prioritizing own work to meet established schedules.

  • Problem solving and trouble shooting.

  • Detail-oriented and ability to multi-task.

  • Ability to convey communications clearly, concisely, and accurately.

  • Ability to form and develop interpersonal, professional relationships and displays socially and professionally appropriate behavior.

  • Ability to work independently and in groups.

  • Nights C-shift: Sunday, Monday and Tuesday plus alternating Saturday nights, 6:30 pm to 6:30am.
