In this role, you will oversee end-to-end manufacturing processes, quality control, and supply chain logistics, driving both technical excellence and operational efficiency across the organization.

Our company is a growing manufacturer and distributor of specialized automotive products. We are seeking a VP Operations to lead our production and operations team. In this role, you will oversee end-to-end manufacturing processes, quality control, and supply chain logistics, driving both technical excellence and operational efficiency across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage overall production planning and execution, ensuring output aligns with sales demand and delivery targets are met or exceeded for customer orders. This includes maintaining on-time fulfillment of orders through effective scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Oversee supply chain and inventory control, utilizing systems to maintain optimal stock levels and inventory accuracy.
  • Lead and mentor a cross-functional manufacturing and operations team (technicians, specialists, etc.), providing guidance and training to foster a high-performing culture. Promote best practices in safety, quality, and continuous improvement while maintaining a positive work environment that supports team growth and well-being.
  • Ensure product quality standards are met at all stages of production.
  • Drive cost reduction and process improvement initiatives in manufacturing operations.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for operations – such as product yield, quality rates, on-time delivery, and unit cost – using analytical tools to track performance.
  • In-house production scaling
  • Collaborate with other Company teams on new product introduction.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required. An advanced degree in engineering or operations management is an asset.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in manufacturing and operations management.
  • Proven track record in leading production teams and managing end-to-end operations (from manufacturing through distribution) in a growth-oriented environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality systems.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to coach technical and frontline staff and foster cross-functional collaboration.
  • Sharp problem-solving abilities and data-driven mindset. Comfortable defining and using KPIs to monitor operational performance, and adept at analyzing data to make decisions that enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Proficiency with manufacturing and inventory management systems (ERP/MRP software, production planning tools).
  • Experience leading or participating in an ERP implementation or system integration project is a strong plus. Familiarity with tools for project management and process documentation is also desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in good standing (an asset that reflects a strong engineering foundation).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or demonstrated project management training/experience.
  • Formal training or certification in Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
