General Description:

Reporting to the CTO, as VP of Architecture, you will shape and drive our technical strategy supporting growth, capabilities, developer productivity, and product quality. You will lead a team of architects and engineers, ensuring sound architectural decisions and effective implementation.

Impact:

• Develop and execute D2L's technical strategy supporting growth and quality
• Create proposals for strategic technical investments
• Build and mentor a team of architects and engineers
• Ensure feasibility and quality of architectural recommendations
• Collaborate with stakeholders on roadmap priorities focusing on architecture and platform advances
• Travel as needed to drive strategy and objectives with onsite and virtual teams
• Improve web-scale, AWS-first design processes
• Oversee budgets, costs, and investment plans
• Engage with customer leadership and faculty to align technology vision with their needs
• Represent architecture and cloud strategies at events and panels
• Lead strategic technical investments in a commercial SaaS environment
• Demonstrate leadership both technically and people-wise
• Communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively
• Balance technical principles with business priorities
• Deep knowledge of cloud architecture, programming languages, and security
• Collaborate with senior leaders and external partners
• Guide the ongoing development of the architecture department
