DIRECTOR / VP of NUCLEAR ENGINEERING

Position Overview

The VP or Director of Nuclear Engineering will work directly with senior management, including the CEO, COO, EVP of Engineering Emeritus, and Chief Scientist. The role involves supporting Reactor Design and Development, Reactor Physics, Nuclear Engineering, and requires a strong understanding of the nuclear business, policy, economics, and regulatory environment. Previous experience with new nuclear and micro-reactors is highly advantageous.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Develop nuclear systems and technologies for civil, defence, and space applications.
  2. Project manage multiple concurrent projects, liaising with stakeholders.
  3. Lead and support nuclear regulatory and approval processes with CNSC, AECL, CNL, etc.
  4. Support business activities, including proposals and stakeholder engagement.
  5. Manage work packages such as study design, data collection, and analysis.
  6. Produce research reports and technical documentation.
  7. Contribute to technical proposals, studies, and RFPs.
Qualifications and Skills
  1. Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering or related field.
  2. 10-15 years of relevant industry experience, with hands-on engineering preferred.
  3. Understanding of nuclear business, policy, economics, and regulation.
  4. Experience with nuclear licensing processes, including CNSC interactions.
  5. Experience within nuclear management systems and quality assurance.
  6. Technical skills in thermal and multi-physics analysis, CFD simulations.
  7. Proficiency in CAD, COMSOL, Ansys, and project management principles.
  8. Background in mechatronics, robotics, automation, and control systems.
  9. Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  10. Self-motivated with problem-solving abilities and resilience.
  11. Eligible to work in Canada and obtain necessary security clearances.
