What You’ll Do

As our VP of Merchandising & E-Commerce, you will lead the strategy and execution of our merchandising and digital commerce initiatives, driving growth across both in-store and online sales channels. This role calls for a strategic, results-oriented leader with a track record of driving innovation and optimizing pricing, promotions, and merchandising. You will be responsible for managing vendor relationships, expanding e-commerce growth, and ensuring our product assortment aligns with market trends and business objectives. Success in this role requires expertise in merchandising, category management, and digital commerce, along with the ability to balance business growth with operational efficiency. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will shape and implement strategies that strengthen our market presence and drive long-term success.

Here’s a glimpse of what you can expect to do:

  • Develop and implement merchandising strategies to support sales and profitability targets.
  • Oversee product assortment planning based on market trends, consumer demand, and competitive analysis.
  • Manage the acquisition of new brands and expansion of existing product categories.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiate terms and ensuring consistent supply.
  • Design and optimize pricing and promotional strategies that drive sales while maintaining margins.
  • Collaborate with brand partners to plan and execute high-impact promotions that enhance brand visibility and performance.
  • Oversee all off-shelf merchandising programs in Chatters stores, ensuring high-visibility placements and effective execution of vendor-funded initiatives.

E-Commerce & Digital Strategy

  • Lead e-commerce strategy, ensuring an optimized online shopping experience and increased conversions.
  • Oversee digital merchandising, including product placement, searchability, and promotions.
  • Collaborate with marketing and IT teams to enhance website functionality, user experience, and online engagement.
  • Manage digital sales channels and ensure alignment between online and in-store strategies.

Operational & Financial Oversight

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including sales, traffic, conversion rates, inventory performance, and overall profitability.
  • Lead financial performance, ensuring achievement of revenue, margin, and EBITDA targets through strategic planning and execution.
  • Work with supply chain and operations teams to ensure efficient inventory management and order fulfillment.
  • Develop and manage budgets, maintaining cost control and aligning financial plans with business objectives.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for executive leadership, providing insights, forecasts, and data-driven recommendations.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team across merchandising, category management, and e-commerce functions.
  • Foster collaboration between departments to align strategies and drive business performance.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge.

Who You Are

  • A Bachelor’s degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in merchandising, category management, and e-commerce, with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience in retail, with a strong understanding of in-store merchandising, category management and merchandise planning.
  • Experience managing vendor negotiations, pricing strategies, and driving digital commerce growth.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed business decisions.
  • Experience with e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento, Salesforce) and digital marketing strategies.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a focus on execution and results.
  • A strategic thinker with strong execution capabilities who can balance long-term growth initiatives with day-to-day business needs.
