About the opportunity

Dayforce is seeking a Vice President of Sales Strategy & Planning to drive our go-to-market effectiveness through strategic planning, data driven decision making, and deep sales partnership. This executive will lead a high-impact team responsible for Sales Planning, Territory & Segmentation Strategy, and Demand Planning ; bringing together insight, operational rigor, and cross-functional alignment.

This role is ideal for a strategic thinker who knows the HCM space and thrives in high paced SaaS environment. As a senior leader, you’ll partner closely with Sales, Finance, Marketing, Enablement, and Executive Leadership to optimize our sales engine, improve productivity per rep, and ensure every dollar of investment has clear ROI.

What you’ll get to do

Sales Strategy & GTM Architecture

  • Define and evolve sales segmentation and coverage models to align with market opportunity, customer needs, and productivity goals.
  • Lead territory optimization initiatives to ensure fair distribution, maximize rep capacity, and unlock whitespace.
  • Partner with Corporate Strategy to shape long-term frameworks that inform GTM design, channel mix, and global sales evolution.
  • Generate strategic insights that guide how we prioritize initiatives & investment, structure incentive programs, and deploy field support.
  • Build strong alignment with Product and Product Operations to proactively plan for and monetize growth from new product innovations and enhancements.
  • Lead the annual and quarterly sales planning cycles, including headcount modeling, demand planning, productivity assumptions, quota allocation, and territory design
  • Build and continuously refine sales capacity & quota models that inform investment decisions and align with top-line targets
  • Partner closely with Finance to ensure alignment between revenue goals, resource plans, and expense forecasts
  • Drive planning cadence and operational rigor across all GTM segments and geographies
  • Be the strategic partner to Sales, Finance, Marketing, and RevOps; bringing cohesion to planning, execution, and performance management

Performance & Productivity Insights

  • Establish the performance measurement framework for sales execution, including key metrics like PPR, attainment, close rates, and cycle times
  • Monitor rep productivity and pipeline conversion trends to identify opportunities to improve outcomes
  • Partner with Enablement and Sales Leadership to connect insights to action; driving programs that improve seller ramp, execution, and ROI
  • Support QBRs, board meetings, and executive strategy sessions with clear, data-driven narratives

Skills and experience we value

  • 12+ years of experience in Sales Strategy, Sales Planning, or Revenue Operations, with 5+ years in a senior leadership capacity
  • Proven success owning planning cycles end-to-end: headcount modeling, quota setting, ramp, and segmentation
  • Strong business acumen; Executive-level communication skills; capable of crafting clear, persuasive narratives
  • You’re passionate about sales and lead with curiosity, continuously seeking to improve systems, processes, and outcomes
  • Expertise in seller productivity metrics (PPR, close rates, ASP, win rates, cycle times) and ROI-based decision-making
  • You build high-performing, cross-functional relationships that break silos and accelerate results
