One of our companies is currently looking for a VP, Engineering in Vancouver, British Columbia, or Toronto, Ontario. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on driving engineering excellence, scaling teams, and aligning technical execution with strategic business goals. You'll be responsible for building and leading high-performing engineering teams while working cross-functionally with Product, Design, and other executive leaders. This role goes beyond engineering oversight—you'll help shape company culture, guide long-term innovation, and ensure the organization delivers category-defining software at scale. You'll report directly to the CEO and play a pivotal role in executive decision-making and execution.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead and scale a high-performing engineering organization across multiple functions and disciplines
  • Translate business and product strategy into actionable engineering goals and execution plans
  • Define and measure engineering performance through key KPIs and operational metrics
  • Own organizational design and talent development, including mentoring and career progression
  • Oversee DevOps, platform engineering, security operations, and system reliability
  • Collaborate with Product, Sales, and Customer Success to align tech delivery with customer outcomes
  • Manage engineering budget, forecasting, vendor relationships, and regional incentives (e.g. SR&ED)
  • Champion a strong, inclusive, and performance-driven engineering culture

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of engineering leadership, managing teams of 30 to 300+ engineers
  • Experience building and shipping innovative SaaS products at scale
  • Strong organizational design and process development skills
  • Background in collaborating with cross-functional leadership (Product, Sales, Customer Success)
  • Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and infrastructure operations
  • Ability to mentor engineering managers and promote continuous growth
  • Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, and executive communication skills
  • Familiarity with modern tech stacks including Python, Ruby on Rails, React, TypeScript, GCP, Kubernetes, and AI/ML tools
