One of our companies is currently looking for a VP, Engineering in Vancouver, British Columbia, or Toronto, Ontario.

In this role, you will lead and scale an engineering team to deliver innovative software solutions that impact customers. As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will work closely with other leaders across the organization to drive company-wide results. You will be responsible for shaping the engineering culture, aligning the engineering team with the company’s vision, and ensuring successful execution on the product roadmap.

Accountabilities:

1. Develop and articulate the strategic vision for the engineering team, ensuring transparency, alignment, and excitement around company goals.
2. Mentor and guide engineering managers and teams, helping them build their careers and deliver on key performance measures, such as productivity, efficiency, and meeting organizational goals.
3. Lead the design and execution of organizational structures for engineering teams and their counterparts in Product and UX, in collaboration with the VP of Product and CTO.
4. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the SaaS platform, including budgeting, cost control, vendor management, and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) and service level objectives (SLOs) are met.
5. Manage communication of engineering goals, progress, and status to key stakeholders across the company, including the CEO, board, and other teams.

Requirements:

1. Experience leading development teams through vision building and product execution, with a focus on fostering innovation and achieving company objectives.
2. Proven ability to scale engineering teams, ranging from 30 to 300 engineers, while maintaining strong organizational health and culture.
3. Strong leadership skills, including the ability to mentor, recruit, and retain top talent with empathy and transparency.
4. Experience in partnering with Product, Sales, and Customer Success teams to deliver on a product roadmap.
5. Experience with SaaS platform management, budgeting, and operational strategies.
6. Familiarity with a modern tech stack (Python, Ruby, React, TypeScript, GCP, TensorFlow, Kubernetes, etc.) is preferred.
