Qualifications

Job description

The Vice President of Data & Analytics, reporting to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), will lead the strategic vision, development, and execution of enterprise data and analytics capabilities. This role is responsible for ensuring the firm leverages data as a competitive advantage across investment, client, advisor, and operational domains. The VP will build and scale a data-driven culture, infrastructure, and insights platform to enable informed decision-making, operational efficiency, and personalized client and advisor experiences. This leader will partner closely with business, technology, and advisor-facing teams to align data initiatives with enterprise strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the firm’s enterprise data strategy to align with business growth objectives, advisor needs, and long-term scalability.
  • Build and lead a high-performing data and analytics team across engineering, governance, and insights functions.
  • Design and implement a modern, cloud-based data infrastructure that integrates data across CRM, custodial, investment, advisor, and reporting platforms.
  • Establish and oversee enterprise data governance, including ownership models, data quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Deliver advisor- and client-facing analytics capabilities that support personalization, growth strategies, and proactive client engagement.
  • Enable self-service reporting and dashboards for business users and advisor teams to increase agility and insight accessibility.
  • Ensure enterprise data is secure, compliant, accurate, and available, in line with cybersecurity policies and regulatory standards.
  • Promote data-driven decision-making by fostering data literacy and embedding analytics in business and advisor workflows.
  • Partner with business units to identify, prioritize, and execute high-impact data initiatives that generate measurable value.

Manage data technology budgets, vendor relationships, and tool selection to support performance, scalability, and return on investment.

Tech Skills
  • Experience with modern data warehousing (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift), ETL / ELT pipelines, and data lakes.
  • Expertise in AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Strong working knowledge of tools such as Python, R, SQL, and AI / ML libraries.
  • Familiarity with Collibra, Alation, or similar governance frameworks.
  • Experience designing data interoperability across systems in a regulated financial services environment.
  • Knowledge of data privacy, cybersecurity standards, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., FINRA, SEC, GDPR).
Experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in data and analytics roles, with at least 5 years in senior or executive leadership positions.
  • Financial services experience required; wealth or asset management experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success building enterprise data functions and delivering measurable business impact through analytics.
  • Experience working in regulated environments and collaborating with compliance, risk, and legal teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences.
