Reporting to the Chief Information Technology & Cyber Security Officer, the VP Business Support Systems (BSS) will be responsible for developing and driving IT strategies and solutions to meet business objectives and provide an optimal experience for our Wireless, Residential, Rogers Bank, and Today’s Shopping Choice customers. They will lead a national team of IT professionals and leverage 3rd party partnerships to deliver on current commitments while future-proofing for target state requirements.
Your Key Accountabilities Will Include
- Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement strategies to provide IT solutions that meet business needs; align these with the company’s goals.
- Apply a customer-centric approach to technical roadmaps to ensure effective business outcomes.
- Deliver efficiencies through integration of IT stacks, including CRM, ordering, billing, and provisioning systems.
- Oversee and lead Enterprise IT Architecture.
- Internal and External Relationships
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners, vendors, industry peers, and internal stakeholders to promote understanding of IT strategies and operational excellence.
- Engage with leadership teams across Wireless, Residential, Customer Experience, Rogers Bank, and Today’s Shopping Choice.
- Negotiate and manage vendor agreements in partnership with Procurement.
- Develop partnerships with Finance and HR to support relevant initiatives.
- Supporting Business Outcomes
- Partner with business units to structure programs and portfolios from intake to delivery, aligning with strategic goals.
- Act as a trusted advisor to ensure inputs are aligned with future directions.
- Operational Excellence
- Ensure BSS systems are current, secure, reliable, and well-supported.
- Focus on enhancing customer experience and meeting/exceeding customer promise commitments.
- Implement tools and practices to proactively identify and mitigate incidents.
- Use DevOps, automation, machine learning, and AI to improve efficiencies.
- Participate in governance and business forums.
- Budget Management
- Meet financial objectives (capex/opex).
- Manage department budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Identify opportunities to optimize IT costs relative to revenue.
- Talent Management
- Attract, develop, and retain skilled IT professionals.
- Plan for succession of key roles to ensure business continuity.
- Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and diverse culture.
- Allocate resources effectively across the portfolio.
