Job description

Volunteer Van Driver

We need Volunteer Van Drivers to pick up our dogs for our Canines in the Classroom Student Training.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Pick up and drop off multiple dogs at various locations and transport to and from designated locations for Canines in the Classroom student training and Refinement Training in Barrie using the vehicle provided by COPE.
• Refuel COPE Van at Esso stations, as needed, using the company gas card.
• Van pickup and drop off at COPE office parking lot.

Qualifications:

• 25 years of age or older.
• Driver’s license (Class G).
• Clean driving record.
• Preferred Skills: One year experience of handling or owning dogs.
• Previous experience driving transit or larger vehicles.

Commitment Needed:

• Ongoing with a minimum commitment of 6 months or more.
• Available to drive a minimum 2 shifts per week. Availability to take on more as you like, each shift is 2-3 hours in length.
• Various shifts available Mon - Fri weekly.

Requirements:

• Driver's License.
• Willing to undergo a background or police records check.
• Minimum Age.
• Own cell phone.
• Comfortable commuting to opportunity location.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Clean driving record & insurance coverage.

Flexible schedule, on-site location: 80 Bradford Street, Ontario, Barrie, L4M 6E9.

Good for Ages: Adult (Ages 18-54), Older Adult (Ages 55+).
