The Borgen Project believes that leaders of the most powerful nations on earth should be doing more to address global poverty. The national campaign is working to make poverty a focus of U.S. and U.K. foreign policy.

The Borgen Project is an international organization that works at the political level to improve living conditions for people impacted by war, famine, and poverty.

With 20 years of experience in the advocacy space, The Borgen Project has supported the passage of numerous bills benefitting close to 500 million people in developing countries.

Nonprofit Leadership Program

This role provides insight into the key skills required to lead and develop a nonprofit organization. It is a part-time, 12-hours-per-week, 12-week unpaid remote program. If your availability is limited, you can work ahead and complete the program in fewer weeks.

Advocacy Leadership Development - Meet with members of government in your district; represent The Borgen Project at various events; mobilize individuals to contact their representatives in support of poverty-reduction legislation.

Fundraising Development - Learn how to fundraise, create a personal campaign, and meet targets.

Recruitment - Update job postings, inform groups about openings, learn recruitment platforms, and participate in interviews.

Marketing and Promotion - Pitch story ideas to media, utilize social media, and develop web messaging strategies.

Experience - No prior experience necessary. We seek individuals passionate about fighting poverty and advocating for change, regardless of GPA or background.

Details - This is an unpaid program; college credit may be available.

Start Date - New programs begin monthly; you may choose your start month.
