Position Title: Volunteer/Administrative Coordinator

Location: Hybrid (Cold Lake & Bonnyville, Alberta)

Employment Type: Temporary Part-Time

Term: Immediate start – February 28, 2026

Hours: 20–25 hours/week (increasing to 35–40 hours/week in January 2026)

Travel: Required between Cold Lake and Bonnyville offices (Mileage reimbursed)

Position Summary

The Lakeland Region 2026 Alberta Winter Games is seeking a Volunteer/Administrative Coordinator to lead volunteer recruitment, engagement, and administrative support in the lead-up to the Games. This is a temporary, part-time hybrid role based in Cold Lake and Bonnyville, starting immediately and running through February 28, 2026. With an average of 20–25 hours per week (increasing to 35–40 hours/week in the final month), the role offers flexible scheduling and requires regular travel between offices (mileage reimbursed). This community-facing position blends people leadership, technology, and administrative coordination, making it ideal for a polished, tech-savvy self-starter who thrives under pressure and is passionate about mobilizing volunteers and building community pride.

Key Responsibilities

Volunteer Coordination & Community Engagement

  • Lead the recruitment, training, scheduling, and retention of volunteers
  • Foster relationships with local organizations, schools, and community groups.
  • Promote volunteer opportunities through events, outreach, and local networks.
  • Facilitate onboarding of volunteers.
  • Coordinate community volunteer rallies.

Administrative & Database Management

  • Maintain accurate volunteer databases and schedules.
  • Track volunteer roles, shifts, and compliance requirements.
  • Provide administrative support to the Games planning team and committees.

Technology & Communication

  • Use database software, spreadsheets, and cloud tools to manage information.
  • Coordinate volunteer communications (e.g. emails, reminders, schedules).
  • Support digital content and social media initiatives as needed.

Office Coordination & Flexibility

  • Operate out of both Bonnyville and Cold Lake offices (travel required).
  • Support event logistics and operational needs before and during the Games.
  • Maintain a professional and polished public presence at community events.
Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with public-facing experience.
  • Experience leading or managing volunteers is a strong asset.
