Qualifications

Job description

Position Summary

Are you a Vocational Support Worker looking to highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a new and dynamic environment? We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Mental Health & Addiction Services department.

Under the supervision of the Community Mental Health Team Leader, you will provide vocational rehabilitation opportunities to individuals with a serious and persistent mental illness and work as a member of an inter-disciplinary team across programs.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Days - 08:00 to 16:00, Rotating

Location: Terrace

The main industries in Terrace are communications, transportation, and natural resources. The population is approximately 12,700. Qualifications

  • Diploma in Human Services field with completion of courses in Rehabilitation Theory, Marketing, and Job Coaching.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience working with individuals with a disability.
  • Or a combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Valid Class 5 BC driver's license.
  • Valid First Aid Certificate and CPR.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to assess client vocational needs.
  • Ability to organize workload.
  • Ability to work with the public.
