Vocational Rehabilitation Service Specialist (VOC RSS)

Status: Permanent Full-time Opportunities


Location: Remote; Work from Home, Atlantic


Partners in Canadian Veterans Rehabilitation Services (PCVRS), a national provider for Veterans Affairs Canada, is now welcoming Veterans and their families into a newly expanded Rehabilitation Services and Vocational Assistance Program. The Rehabilitation Program provides access to medical, psycho-social, and vocational services to help ensure a successful transition to life after service for Veterans.

What You’ll Do
  1. Be part of a team of Rehabilitation Service Specialists in the delivery and coordination of Rehabilitation Services for program participants.
  2. Assist the team to provide superior participant-centered services that lead to successful outcomes in a timely and efficient manner.
  3. Establish and meet caseload and performance metrics.
  4. Ensure service standards and outcomes meet and exceed requirements.
  5. Coordinate all assessments, interpret reports, and provide recommendations for services to support Participants to reach their rehabilitation goals.
  6. Coordinate any assessments required for VAC’s Financial Benefits Programs (IRB and CFIS) outside of the Rehabilitation Program.
  7. Coordinate and conduct Vocational Rehabilitation and Vocational Assistance assessments and interventions.
What You Bring
  • Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Services Professional (CVRP), or a CVRP-Fellow (CVRP-F), or Career Counsellors registered with the Ordre des conseillers et conseillères d'orientation du Québec.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the direct provision of medical, psycho-social, and/or vocational rehabilitation services (or a combination thereof) to Participants.
  • Experience conducting medical, psycho-social, and/or vocational rehabilitation assessments.
  • Experience working with persons living with mental or physical health problems creating barriers to civilian life.
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting assessments and making recommendations leading to comprehensive care plans.
  • Experience working with health professionals and disciplines in an interdisciplinary team environment.
Preferred Criteria
  • Bilingual (French/English).
  • Experience working with employers, community resources, and training institutions.
  • Preference given to qualified former CAF members.
