Job summary

VO2 GROUP seeks a Java/Spring Boot Developer for occasional client missions in Montreal. You will design robust APIs and deliver backend services in a hybrid setup, collaborating with cross-functional teams in a dynamic tech consulting environment.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in Java/Spring Boot, with Git/Maven/CI/CD, Docker and Kubernetes experience. Certifications (Oracle Java/Spring) or cloud certs are a plus.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience developing backend applications in Java, with substantial Spring Boot work.
• Oracle Java (OCP) or Spring certification is a plus; cloud certs (AWS, Azure) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design robust APIs and ensure production-grade reliability.
• Collaborate with client teams in a hybrid Montreal setting on backend modernization projects.
• Participate in Agile/kanban processes with Jira/Confluence.

Java / Spring Boot Developer – Occasional Missions & Client Challenges

You design robust APIs and like your code to hold up in production? Our clients, particularly in the banking and financial sector, regularly need reinforcements to build, modernize or stabilize their back-end services, directly within their teams, often in a hybrid setup in downtown Montreal. No room for boredom, every project is a new challenge.

The rest of the profile (Tech & Quality)

Experience: You have been developing back-end applications in Java for at least 4 years, a good part of it with Spring Boot.

Certification: An Oracle Java (OCP) or Spring certification is an asset, as is a cloud certification (AWS, Azure).

Methodologies & Tools: Mastery of Java 11+ and the Spring Boot ecosystem (Spring Data, Spring Security), microservices architectures and REST APIs. You are comfortable with Git, Maven or Gradle, CI/CD pipelines and Docker; experience with Kafka or Kubernetes is a plus. You work in Agile (Scrum, Kanban) with Jira and Confluence.

Soft Skills: Rigor, autonomy and a real team spirit. You communicate fluently in French, both orally and in writing, and can explain your technical choices to architects and business teams alike.
