JOB TITLE: Visual Merchandising In-store Graphic Designer (12-month contract)

REPORTS TO: Visual Merchandising Manager

LOCATION: Toronto, possibly Montreal too

Position Overview:

This role is a 12-month contract position responsible for creating and compiling In-store Design directives. This includes adjusting and compiling photos and data, creating In-store displays and renderings that uphold the company brand, developing streamlined communication with the team and stores, and supporting the VMD department with tasks such as budgeting, reporting install success rates, coordinating props, and store initiatives across Canada.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create concepts, renderings, and gather product images for In-Store displays, mannequins, propping, fixtures, and marketing materials.
  • Design and prepare production files for printing.
  • Support window propping and file creation as needed.
  • Create and update communication documents and oversee installations from start to finish.
  • Train Area Visual Managers on product and prop placement where applicable.
  • Implement In-Store design directives shared by GHQ in local markets.
  • Ensure all communication is clear, accurate, and consistent with brand standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate window displays, visual merchandising, store design, and collateral.
  • Manage multiple projects efficiently through strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Handle budget management tasks, including PO, COUPA, and end-of-month budgets.
  • Be available during overnight store installs, either on-site or remotely.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or diploma in Visual Merchandising, Graphic Design, or related fields/experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with a corporate visual merchandising team to design, compile, and communicate directives.
  • Retail experience and knowledge of Window and In-Store VMD design and execution are preferred.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Dimension, Sketchup, etc.
  • Strong skills in computer graphics and 3D rendering.
  • Experience with large-scale print installations and digital file preparation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Effective communication of design strategies to store management and internal teams.
  • Excellent listening, written, and oral communication skills; French proficiency is an asset.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
