Job description

The Program:
YWCA Resolve Family Abuse Program offers 24/7 shelter, a help hotline, and emergency intervention for domestic violence victims. Providing services for the entire family in Kanawha, Clay, and Boone counties, YWCA Resolve also offers case management, court advocacy, counseling, support groups, safety planning, monitored parent-child visitation/exchange, programs for children, and teen dating safety. Licensed by the West Virginia Family Protection Services Board, our mission is to eliminate domestic violence through leadership, education, empowerment, and community collaboration.


The Position:
Visitation Center Facilitators
under the direction of the Assistant Program and Executive assist with the operation of the monitored visitation and exchange center which serves parents and children who are experiencing domestic problems and need a safe, neutral location to visit with, and exchange, their children for visitation.


Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or GED
  2. Human services experience preferred.

Additional Requisites:

  1. Good oral/written communication skills
  2. Ability to work with a diverse population
  3. Sensitive to and knowledgeable about domestic violence
  4. Ability to respond to clients in an empathetic and non-judgmental manner
  5. Excellent organizational skills
  6. Workaround moderate noise, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
  7. Have and maintain a valid driver’s license and a vehicle.
  8. Must pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct client intake, needs assessments, and schedule visitation/exchange appointments.
  2. Monitor visits and exchanges, ensuring safety and adherence to center rules and regulations.
  3. Respond to client inquiries and issues, maintaining professional boundaries.
  4. Maintain accurate and confidential client documentation.
  5. Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating center policies, procedures, and programs.
  6. Contribute to program evaluations and data collection for reports and grants.
  7. Maintain the center's supplies and ensure a clean, organized facility.
  8. Schedule staff and volunteers to ensure adequate center coverage.
  9. Pursue and maintain West Virginia Coalition Against Domestic Violence (WVCADV) Domestic Violence Advocate certification through required training and continuing education (for advocates working 15+ hours).
  10. Advocate for clients and facilitate problem resolution.
  11. Assist with marketing and recruitment efforts.
  12. Participate in staff meetings and training.
  13. Ensure compliance with fire, health, and safety codes.
  14. Assist with special events, fundraisers, and training activities.
  15. Keep the coordinator and/or director informed of problems and needs.
  16. Perform other assigned duties.

Compensation: $13.00 per hour mostly on weekends.
