About the position

As a Used Car Technician, you will perform mechanical repairs on trade-ins and auction purchases to prepare vehicles for sale. You will conduct Used Car Inspections and make recommendations to ensure vehicle safety and quality. Providing quality vehicles ensures a positive customer experience.

Duties

• Performs work as outlined on repair orders efficiently and accurately, following dealership and factory standards.
• Diagnoses causes of malfunctions and performs repairs accordingly.
• Communicates with the parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Maintains a persistent, competitive work ethic.
• Possesses a clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
• Examines vehicles to determine if further safety or service work is needed or recommended.
• Communicates with the service advisor immediately if additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.

Automotive Technician / Mechanic Qualifications

• Experience in an automotive dealership preferred.
• Valid Virginia State Inspector's license.
• Ability to work well in a process-driven environment.
• Strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
• Valid driver’s license; must be insurable on company insurance.
• Ability to perform inspections that may require bending, lifting, and working in various weather conditions.
