Ontario Line South
Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projects are to design, build
and finance the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations and Tunnel (South Civil) package.
Working together as Ontario Transit Group, we are currently mobilizing our design and construction crews, with major works to commence in 2023. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.
The project will strengthen Ontario's economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.
What is the project?
A six-kilometer tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River).
Stations include:
- One above-ground station integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station.
- Two underground stations integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations.
- Four new underground stations: King/Bathurst, Queen/Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown.
What you will undertake:
Reporting to the Station Design Manager, the Station Design Coordinator will:
- Review shop drawings prepared by the Subcontractor's Designers, ensuring compliance with Project Specifications and local standards. This includes assessing constructability, comparing ratios with design, and interfacing with other designers (temporary works, etc.).
- Coordinate with construction & methods teams to review and comment in a timely manner.
- Assist in forecasting shop drawing reviews by Designers.
- Track the progress of shop drawings review, RFIs, NCRs, and FCRs in accordance with the construction schedule.
- Maintain follow-up on modifications during construction for as-built documentation.
- Provide inputs to track Designer's costs based on time and materials during ESDC for invoice approval.
- Interface with other teams (Architecture, MEP) and departments (construction, quality, methods) to resolve potential conflicts during shop drawing preparation.
- Identify design changes from the CD stage, including quantity variations, for review and proposal.
- Perform other duties as applicable.
ProfileWhat do we ask for?
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering.
- Experience in detailed design of building and civil infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of building design and experience working with design teams or external consultants.
- Proficiency with Autodesk software (Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM360) and other relevant transportation engineering software.
