Job Description:

The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) is a unique international program sponsored by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment, open to Airbus to offer young professionals the opportunity to have valuable paid work experience abroad in a technical or business function.

The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria.

VIE Main Requirements:

  • European Union citizens (plus Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Monaco), graduates up to and including 28 years old
  • Have fulfilled military obligations for their country, if any

The contract duration of VIE is 24 months.

A VIE in Cloud FinOps model analyst has arisen within Airbus Commercial Canada, in Mirabel.

You will be an integral part of our Hosting and Platforms team in North America (Canada), with a responsibility to get the most value of every dollar we spent in the Cloud & to bring your knowledge to continuously innovate and improve our path on cloud financial controls and optimization, while helping to drive a culture of accountability regarding efficient cloud usage/spend.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to be a key contributor to maturing our FinOps practice, by driving the adoption of FinOps best practices through governance, standards, policies, and education that will guide efficient cloud investment.

Tasks & accountabilities

Your main tasks will include:

  • Analyze, optimize, reduce and implement cost optimization actions over different cloud services (GCP, AWS, Azure)
  • Implement and manage automated tools to help identify cost trends and anomalies
  • Build automation that optimizes the cloud environment
  • Create financial and usage dashboards
  • Work with our technical teams to design and implement new services in the most cost-efficient way
  • Work with the financial teams on budget, forecast, and expenses reports
  • Work closely with our finance and legal departments to negotiate cost terms and contracts

  • You take pride in managing deliverables independently and with a high degree of efficiency.
  • You are highly efficient in developing & managing FinOps Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and reporting.

Required skills

You have the following skills and experience:

  • Math skills or a background in finance
  • AWS, GCP, Azure are not mandatory but willingness to learn
  • A love of data and driving business outcomes with it

In addition you are capable to demonstrate the following skills:

  • Highly organized
  • Detail-oriented
  • Clear, effective written and oral communication
  • Excellent Communication, both written and oral, in French and English
