Summary

Bell Media in the BC Peace region is looking for a full-time Videographer! Are you looking for your next (or first!) big gig and are passionate about bringing your local community important news stories? Our team energetically tracks down stories and attends news events for coverage on television and the web! If you’re an enthusiastic and passionate reporter ready to diversify your skills and dive into a new and fulfilling experience, this opportunity is for you!

The Peace Country is located in the Northeast region of B.C. and is a vibrant and growing area, which offers world-class fishing in our many lakes and rivers, along with skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, biking, and so much more. From wide-open prairie to densely forested mountains, the Peace Country offers something for everyone!

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop community contacts, regularly check in with police, fire, ambulance, etc.
  • Attend news events, chase stories, and follow up on files.
  • Attend municipal government, school district, and regional district meetings regularly.
  • Edit and produce stories for television, radio, and the web daily.
  • Collaborate with the team to brainstorm story ideas and coverage plans.
  • Read news, weather, and sports on radio, and occasionally backfill the anchor chair to expand your skills.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Critical Qualifications
  • Comfortable in front of the camera with a professional presence and ready for live TV!
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines professionally.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently when needed.
  • Degree or Diploma in Broadcast/Journalism or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with ENG camera operation and editing equipment.
  • Knowledge of Burli, Final Cut, or similar programs is an asset.
  • Preferred 1–3 years’ experience in a related role.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract.
