Summary

Bell Media in the BC Peace region is looking for a full-time Videographer! Are you passionate about bringing important news stories to your local community? Our team actively seeks out stories and attends news events for coverage on television and online. If you’re an enthusiastic reporter eager to diversify your skills and seek a rewarding experience, this opportunity is for you!

The Peace Country, located in Northeast B.C., is a vibrant area offering world-class fishing, skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, biking, and more. From prairie landscapes to forested mountains, there’s something for everyone!

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop community contacts and regularly check in with police, fire, ambulance, etc.
  • Attend news events, chase stories, and follow up on files
  • Attend municipal government, school district, and regional district meetings regularly
  • Edit and produce stories for TV, radio, and online daily
  • Collaborate with team members to brainstorm story ideas and coverage plans
  • Read news, weather, and sports on radio; occasionally backfill the anchor chair
  • Other duties as assigned
Critical Qualifications
  • Comfortable on camera with a professional presence; ready for live TV
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines professionally
  • Team player with minimal supervision
  • Degree or diploma in Broadcast/Journalism or equivalent experience
  • Experience operating ENG cameras and editing equipment
  • Knowledge of Burli, Final Cut, or similar programs is an asset
  • 1–3 years’ relevant experience preferred
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract
