Description

Circuit Stream is a leader in future technology skills training and learning content. We offer world-class educational services for teen and adult learners with a focus on the skills needed to leverage immersive and emerging technology.

We are seeking passionate Unity developers with a deep understanding of Unity, C#, and game development to instruct our Video Game Coding summer programs for learners aged 13-18. Students will learn the key concepts of game development and how to bring ideas to life using industry-standard tools and processes. Learners will acquire the foundational knowledge and skills necessary to create their own simple games using Unity and C# scripting. The ideal instructor candidates should possess a strong foundation in Unity Editor, C#, Microsoft Visual Studio, Object-Oriented Programming, as well as some teaching, TA, or training experience.

The Video Game Coding Course will be offered from June 30 - July 11 at McGill University - Main Downtown Campus. Candidates selected for interviews will be contacted starting in April 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engaging and comprehensive classroom sessions with teen learners following the Video Game Coding course curriculum.
  • Provide constructive feedback, guidance, and mentorship to students as they ideate, develop, and iterate on their Maze Adventure project.
  • Showcase proficiency in Unity and 2D game development concepts.
  • Share real-world experiences, case studies, and insights to offer students a holistic understanding of the field.
  • Grade assessments that accurately measure student understanding and progress within the course.

Requirements

  • Availability to teach during the day (from 9am to 3pm) from June 30 - July 11.
  • Previous professional experience in game development or Unity development roles.
  • Bachelor's degree or final year studies in Computer Science, or graduate of Circuit Stream XR Development with Unity course or Game Development with Unity Bootcamp or similar programs.
  • Proficiency in Unity and C#.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible and engaging manner.
  • Innate logical thinking and the ability to inspire and nurture logical thinking in students.
  • A passion for guiding and mentoring students, fostering their growth, and providing meaningful feedback.
  • Willingness to adapt to evolving curriculum needs, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
  • A collaborative attitude, eager to contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
  • A proactive attitude towards ongoing professional development and a willingness to learn and stay up-to-date with industry advancements.
  • A strong portfolio of relevant work to showcase your skills and experience.
