Position: Video Editor & Graphic Designer (One-Year Contract)
●Term: Full-time, One-Year employment contract with the possibility of extension
●Location: Hybrid (Ottawa, ON)
●Hours: 35 hours per week (some evening and weekend work may be required)
●Reports to: TRAC Program Coordinator
●This is a 12-month employment contract with the possibility of extension, subject to funding and successful performance evaluations.
Background and Context
TRAC (Technology, Research, and Communications) is a social enterprise of the Social Planning Council of Ottawa, providing digital communications, marketing, and media services to nonprofits and small businesses. We are seeking a talented and creative Video Editor & Graphic Designer to join our dynamic team for a one-year contract. This role is central to producing high-quality videos and graphics that communicate our brand message and support our clients’ missions.
Duties andResponsibilities
Shoot and edit raw video footage into polished, engaging videos for digital campaigns, events, and social media.
Design visually appealing graphics, illustrations, and motion graphics for various platforms (social media, web, print).
Collaborate with the marketing and creative teams to develop visual concepts and strategies.
Ensure all visual content aligns with brand guidelines and standards.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and quality expectations.
Maintain organized archives of video and graphic assets.
Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate innovative techniques into projects.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Proven experience in video editing and graphic design, supported by a strong portfolio.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator).
Strong understanding of visual storytelling, composition, and branding principles.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Strong communication skills for presenting ideas and receiving feedback.
Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and deadlines.
Relevant post-secondary education or equivalent work experience in video production, graphic design, or a related field.
Assets
●Experience with motion graphics and animation.
●Experience working in a nonprofit or social enterprise environment.
