Welcome to Dough Parlour Inc., where playtime is anything but ordinary!
Dough Parlour is a premium children’s toy brand dedicated to transforming playtime into a sensory‑rich experience. Our 100% non‑toxic, BPA‑free, and environmentally friendly modeling dough is crafted with the finest ingredients, bringing joy and creativity into homes while ensuring both safety and quality.
We’re currently looking for a creative, reliable, and highly hands‑on Video Content Creator to help us develop high‑performing short‑form video ads that highlight the fun, tactile, imaginative world of Dough Parlour. If you love crafting, making things look amazing on camera, and creating scroll‑stopping content that performs, this role is for you.
Position Overview
We’re seeking a content creator who can ideate, film, edit, and deliver engaging videos designed for paid social (TikTok, Instagram, etc.). This is a mainly creative but performance‑driven role: you’ll craft visually appealing product videos, demonstrate dough play on camera, shape characters or designs with your hands, add voiceovers, and edit everything into polished ads optimized for hook rate, hold rate, and overall performance.
We’re looking to produce roughly 8-12 short videos per week (typically around 10 creatives/week as we scale). This is a hybrid role: while most of the work can be done remotely using your own, at‑home filming setup, you will need to be located within Halton or neighbouring areas (our storefront is located in Oakville) and be available occasionally for pickups or office visits, when necessary.
Ideal Candidate
- Love creating short‑form video content and understand the psychology behind what makes people stop scrolling.
- Have a playful, creative spirit and enjoy working hands‑on, especially with sensory products like dough.
- Can craft clean, small shapes, figures, or designs by hand with our modeling dough.
- Are comfortable appearing on camera and participating in short‑form storytelling or demos, including hands‑on product demonstrations.
- Are data‑aware: you know what hook rate and hold rate mean and you know how to use performance insights to iterate.
- Can work independently but warmly welcome constructive direction and feedback.
- Deeply understands our brand aesthetic and works to maintain it in all content: warm, joyful, whimsical, and family‑friendly.
- Are able to create engaging, relatable content that resonates with parents, grandparents, and caregivers, while keeping our playful and sensory brand aesthetic.
- Are organized, self‑motivated, and consistent with deadlines and output.
Key Responsibilities
- Film and edit short‑form videos for ads showcasing Dough Parlour’s products (dough demonstrations, playboxes, close‑ups, ASMR‑style shots, hands‑on crafting, on‑camera storytelling, etc.).
- Create multiple variations of hooks, scenes, and angles for A/B testing across platforms.
- Add clear, friendly voiceovers and simple on‑screen text overlays as needed.
- Deliver weekly batches of high‑quality creatives, with the ability to adapt or enhance based on performance metrics.
- Use brand guidelines to match our playful, colourful, sensory‑driven aesthetic.
- Stay up‑to‑date with TikTok/Instagram ad trends and integrate relevant creative cues and sounds (without copying all trends directly).
- Maintain clean, well‑lit filming environments and ensure footage is crisp, stable, and visually appealing.
- Organize content files, label assets properly, and manage shared folders for easy access.
- Occasionally pick up new products or materials from our Oakville office when needed.
